NEXIE Opportunities

Explore pathways into learning, practice, meaningful work and enterprise.

NEXIE opportunities help people connect what matters to them with the learning, capability, experience and permissions their next pathway may require.

You may want to study, strengthen professional practice, participate in a placement, build an enterprise, operate an authorised service or create pathways for others.

01

Study and Training

Connect recognised capability with practical application.

Some pathways connect proprietary NEXIE learning with nationally recognised qualifications delivered and assessed by approved partner RTOs.

NEXIE Institute is not an RTO and does not independently enrol, assess or issue nationally recognised qualifications.
  • Entrepreneurship and New Business
  • Business Leadership and Management
  • Early Childhood Education and Care
  • School Based Education Support
  • Selected Community and Human Services pathways
02

Professional Learning

Build capability within your existing role.

Professional learning does not change a participant’s qualifications, registration, employment classification or authorised professional scope.
  • Early childhood teachers and educational leaders
  • Educators and support personnel
  • School-based support workers
  • Counsellors, family and community-support practitioners
  • Careers practitioners, leaders and service facilitators
03

Placements and Applied Experience

Turn learning into supervised contribution.

  • Supervised service experience
  • Research and resource validation

  • Enterprise Capability — operate responsibly
  • Field Capability — work appropriately
  • Productised Service — select a fit
  • Licensed Delivery — meet requirements

Operate a NEXIE Productised Service

Begin with an established framework. Build your own pathway around it.

Eligible participants may prepare to deliver a specified NEXIE service under the applicable use and delivery rights within an existing role, participating organisation or independent enterprise.

Purchasing learning or completing a Business Blueprint does not automatically provide authority to deliver every NEXIE service.
  • NEXIE Method learning
  • Appropriate field capability
  • Facilitator or practitioner preparation
  • Safeguarding and referral requirements
  • Participant and delivery resources
  • Professional Use or Licensed Delivery Rights
06

  • Licensed self-employment
  • Site or outreach coordination

Questions and Answers

Understand NEXIE opportunities before choosing a pathway.

Are all NEXIE opportunities jobs?+

No. NEXIE Opportunities is an umbrella for different ways people may participate.

An opportunity may involve study, professional learning, a supervised placement, applied experience, an employment-linked pathway, enterprise development, licensed service delivery, a pilot or an organisational partnership.

Each listing identifies the opportunity type, participation basis, requirements and responsible provider. Where employment may be possible, it remains subject to a separate lawful employment arrangement.

Does registering interest guarantee access?+

No. Registering interest helps NEXIE understand what you would like to explore and allows relevant information to be provided as pathways develop.

Access may depend on availability, eligibility, age, location, existing capability, qualifications, professional scope, safeguarding requirements, partner participation, supervision, funding and service-specific requirements.

Registration does not guarantee acceptance, enrolment, placement, employment, funding, licensing or commercial delivery rights.

Does NEXIE provide nationally recognised qualifications?+

No. NEXIE Institute is not a Registered Training Organisation.

NEXIE provides proprietary education, professional learning, the NEXIE Business Blueprint, applied-learning resources and enterprise and service pathways.

Nationally recognised training is delivered and assessed by the relevant approved partner RTO.

The partner RTO remains responsible for enrolment, training, assessment, competency decisions, learner records and qualification or statement issuance.

Do I need a qualification to explore an opportunity?+

Not always.

People may explore NEXIE X, personal learning, publications, the Business Blueprint and selected introductory opportunities without already holding a qualification.

A qualification, registration, relevant experience, supervision or specialist preparation may be required for professional practice, regulated activities, workplace responsibilities or licensed delivery of a particular Productised Service.

The requirement depends on what you intend to do.

Can I operate a Productised Service after completing the Business Blueprint?+

Not automatically.

The Business Blueprint helps you develop your purpose, audience, enterprise model, boundaries and pathway. It does not independently authorise delivery of a NEXIE Productised Service.

Commercial delivery may also require appropriate field capability, NEXIE learning, facilitator preparation, safeguarding and referral processes, insurance and the applicable Licensed Delivery Rights.

Does NEXIE guarantee employment, clients or income?+

No.

NEXIE may provide learning, pathways, resources, implementation support and appropriately licensed service frameworks. It does not guarantee employment, placements, clients, funding, business revenue or commercial success.

Independent operators remain responsible for their own business decisions, operations, marketing, compliance and customer relationships.

Can parents and carers use lived experience to build a pathway?+

Yes. Lived experience can provide valuable insight, purpose, empathy and understanding.

The Business Blueprint can help parents and carers recognise what they already bring and determine what further enterprise capability, field learning, experience, safeguards or qualifications their intended pathway may require.

Lived experience is valued, but it does not replace professional qualifications or authorisation where these are required.

Are parents and carers guaranteed an ECHOS facilitator opportunity?+

No.

Parents and carers may register interest in future ECHOS learning, supervised experience, employment-linked, contract or licensed enterprise pathways. Participation will depend on capability, preparation, safeguards, available sites and an appropriate authorised arrangement.

ECHOS is not represented as a guaranteed employment, income, government-funded or NDIS pathway.

Can students explore NEXIE Productised Services?+

Yes. Productised Services may be explored as case studies, applied-project contexts or possible future pathways.

Exploration does not provide service resources, professional status, certification or commercial delivery rights. Any later delivery pathway remains subject to age, capability, professional preparation, safeguarding and licensing requirements.

Are placements paid?+

Not necessarily.

A placement may be unpaid, paid, scholarship-supported or connected with employment, depending on the specific opportunity and the participating organisations.

Each listing should clearly identify the proposed participation basis. University, RTO, insurance, supervision and workplace approvals may also apply.

Can organisations propose a new opportunity?+

Yes.

Schools, RTOs, employers, universities, early-childhood services, community organisations and other aligned partners may propose a pathway or project.

A partnership conversation may consider:

  • purpose and intended participants
  • responsibilities and governance
  • qualifications and capability
  • supervision and safeguarding
  • location and delivery arrangements
  • funding and resources
  • intellectual-property and use rights
  • evaluation and sustainability

A proposal does not become an approved NEXIE partnership until the arrangement has been formally scoped and agreed.

What does “Partnership Conversation” mean?+

It means the pathway depends on collaboration with one or more responsible organisations and is open for initial discussion.

It does not mean that a partnership, program, placement or funded opportunity has already been approved. Responsibilities, capability, governance, resourcing and use rights must be agreed before implementation.

Where should I begin?+

Begin by choosing what you want to do: study, develop professionally, gain experience, build an enterprise, operate a service or create a partnership.

You can then:

  • use the Opportunity Register filters
  • open the relevant opportunity page
  • explore NEXIE X if you are still identifying your direction
  • use the Choose Your Pathway selector
  • register your interest
  • begin a partnership conversation on behalf of an organisation

You do not need to understand the entire NEXIE ecosystem before choosing your next step.

Purpose. Pathway. Possibility.

Find the opportunity that fits what you want to build next.
